Roy Allen
As a member of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity, Roy Allen has worked with Lifebanc and has helped educate the community about the need for more registered organ donors. He now finds himself on dialysis and on the waiting list for a kidney transplant.
Roy is no stranger to Lifebanc. In fact, he has been helping to promote the mission of organ, eye, and tissue donation since 2014 when he participated in the Stepping for Life show with his fraternity Alpha Kappa Psi. At the time, Roy knew he was one of the hundreds of African Americans that suffered from hypertension which was affecting his kidneys.
Roy’s kidneys held up until 2020, when he was somewhat shocked to learn that he was in kidney failure and would need dialysis to survive until a kidney for transplant was available. Roy who is a husband, father, son and brother loves to play chess and enjoys his job working in a dental office. He hopes a kidney transplant is in the near future to allow him to fully spend his time with those he loves, and doing what he loves.
