We have a challenging and exciting opportunity available for a Surgical Organ Recovery Coordinator. Qualified candidates will be responsible for providing organ preservation services to provide safe transplantable organs while meeting AOPO and UNOS standards.

Lifebanc is seeking an experienced individual to join our team. Ideal candidates will have Surgical Technician, Paramedic/EMT, or relevant healthcare experience. The Surgical Organ Recovery Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and facilitating the organ recovery process in the operating room setting. You will blend a high level of clinical and people skills to educate and work with surgical staff to facilitate organ donation. Success in this role requires a self-assured professional who has keen surgical skills, and the ability to be flexible and remain calm and effective in highly charged and clinically complex situations.
- 24 hour shifts
- Prepares for the organ recovery process in the operating room and provides medical/technical assistance to the donor surgeon during the removal of organs and tissues as first assist, obtaining biopsies and closing kidney biopsy sites.
- Performs organ preservation during organ recovery/procurement and when applicable performs recovery of an organ(s) for research.
- Performs machine pulsatile preservation of kidneys.
- Accompanies recovery team(s) as needed to fly-out to locations across the US for organ recovery. Transports specimens and/or organs to transplant centers or hospitals.
- Documents pertinent organ preservation information thoroughly and accurately.
The qualified candidate must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record, current auto insurance, willing to fly in small aircraft, and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people. We require 1-2 years’ experience in the clinical health care field (such as Paramedic, Surgical Technician or LPN) or relevant experience in organ preservation. Must be available during day/night hours, have flexibility to work an on-call schedule and work as a team player.
