In April, Lifebanc recognized four local BMVs for their outstanding work on the front lines of organ, eye and tissue donation. On behalf of Donate Life Ohio, Lifebanc presented the 2010 ”Organ, Tissue and Eye Donation Front Line Awards” to BMV Deputy Registrar locations with the highest organ, eye and tissue donation registration rates or greatest improvement in their BMV District.
The BMV has a critical role in saving and healing lives by asking the donation question. Lifebanc saved and healed more than 25,000 lives last year, and saying yes at the BMV counter to be an organ, eye and tissue donor is the first step in helping to save those lives. These awards not only recognize the commitment of the BMV Deputy Registrar but the compassion and generosity of the community in which they serve.
Lifebanc is proud to recognize the following agencies for their commitment and outstanding work on the front lines:
The Avon Lake BMV Deputy Registrar Location received the “Best in District One” award for achieving a donor registration rate of 72.0 percent in 2010. Additionally they were second in the state out of 203 agencies, missing first place by .9 percent.
The Wade Park (Cleveland) BMV Deputy Registrar Location received the “Most Improved in the State” award for improving their donor registration rate from 25.9 percent in 2009 to 30.0 percent in 2010. This is the third time in five years this agency has received this award.
The Euclid BMV Deputy Registrar Location received the “Most Improved in District One” award for improving their donor registration rate from 32.1 percent in 2009 to 35.5 percent in 2010.
The Uhrichsville BMV Deputy Registrar Location received the “Most Improved in District 2” award for improving their donor registration rate from 50.0 percent in 2009 to 52.3 percent in 2010.
