It is our pleasure to have singer, author and "American Idol" season 8 finalist Scott MacIntyre as our guest speaker. Scott was born visually impaired, but that hasn't stopped him from seeing the silver linings in life. Hear his inspiring story of overcoming obstacles, including undiagnosed end-stage kidney failure, as he celebrates the meaning of hope and the gift of life.
The 2013 Legacy of Life Award honors Robin Barrett, daughter of donor Addie Mathis, and Lifebanc Ambassador. This award honors heroes who have educated the public about organ, eye and tissue donation and have been a catalyst for increasing the number of individuals designating their wishes as registered donors. On November 2, 2004, Robin's mother died of a massive stroke. In the midst of heartbreak, Robin's family agreed to allow their mom to leave a profound legacy behind through organ donation.
Robin's experience was life-changing and she not only became a registered donor, she also became a true ambassador for the mission of Lifebanc. Robin continues to celebrate
In 2009, Lifebanc needed new space for its main office. They searched for a partner that could create a space to fit the needs of the growing organization, while embracing the organization's mission to save and heal lives. With their expertise and passion for the mission of Lifebanc, GEIS developed a new building that truly is Lifebanc's home. Throughout the process, GEIS introduced additional community partners to Lifebanc; promoted the value of saving and healing lives through organ, eye and tissue donation; and brought visibility to giving the gift of life in the community.
