Faith Leaders

Lifebanc is dedicated to helping the general public and religious leaders make informed decisions about the life-saving benefits of organ and tissue donation.

As a spiritual leader, you have the unique opportunity to change the lives of the thousands of people in the United States. By being an advocate for donation, you can help those in need of a life-saving organ or tissue transplant. Many of those on the waiting list live right here in the northeast Ohio community and perhaps are even members of your congregation. The sad truth is that some people on the list will die because an organ isn't available in time. There are numerous ways you can assist with spreading the message of the Gift of Life, including:

  • Request Special Materials
Lifebanc has the information you need to promote organ and tissue donation.  We can also supply informational brochures and educational programs in which a recipient or donor family member shares the story of the positive impact of donation with your congregation.
  • Support Organ and Tissue Donation
As a spiritual leader, you are often called to offer solace to a grieving family. You have the opportunity to share the fact that all major religions in the U.S. support organ, eye, and tissue donation and to see that their loved one's final act could be to leave a legacy of life to others.
  • Participate in the National Donor Sabbath Weekend
Lifebanc invites you to participate in the National Donor Sabbath Weekend, when the nation pauses to honor and remember the donor and his or her family for their decision to give the Gift of Life. The event takes place in November, a time for giving thanks.

Contact a Lifebanc Community Outreach Coordinator at 216-752-LIFE (5433) to discuss how we can work together to educate your congregation about organ, tissue and eye donation.
