As a spiritual leader, you have the unique opportunity to change the lives of the thousands of people in the United States who are waiting for organ transplants. Many of those on the waiting list live right here in the Northeast Ohio community. Sadly, some people on the waiting list die because a compatible organ wasn’t available in time to save their lives.


Both in individual counseling and as a spiritual leader, your voice can and should be heard. There are numerous ways you can reach your congregation and your community.

Help to a Grieving Family
As a spiritual leader, you are often called upon to offer solace to a grieving family. You have the opportunity to share a message of how donating life can bring a second chance to someone you and the family may never know.

LifeBanc Has the Resources
LifeBanc, the organ procurement organization for Northeast Ohio, has the information you need to promote organ and tissue donation. We can offer you special materials for the spiritual community, informational brochures and educational programs in which a recipient or donor family member shares the story of the positive impact of donation.

Donor Sabbath Weekend
LifeBanc invites you to participate in the National Donor Sabbath Weekend, which takes place each November. This time of year was chosen because it is one of thanksgiving and life. Organ recipients celebrate their second chance at life, and honor and remember the donor and his or her family for their decision to donate life.
