TV and movie dramas, urban legends and sensationalism have helped to create many questions and concerns about organ and tissue donation. Did you know that less than 2% of the nation's population can be organ donors at the times of their deaths? Also, there is a difference between organ and tissue donors. Organs are only recovered from donors who experience brain death, or donation after cardiac death may occur. Tissue, however, can be recovered from donors who experience either brain death or cardiac death.
