A LifeBanc Speaker at Your Church
Many people believe their religion does not approve of organ donation. The fact is that all major religions in the U.S. support organ, eye, and tissue donation and see it as the final act of love and generosity toward others. The Gift of Life philosophy is consistent with religious and ethical systems. You may wish to look at our Religious Views page for a statement from your denomination, or consult your own faith advisor if you have specific questions.

Consider having a LifeBanc representative speak to your congregation about the need for organ and tissue donation. These programs are free of charge and can be scheduled to fit the needs of your church. LifeBanc will be happy to speak during a service or to a group before or after a service.
National Donor Sabbath is an opportunity for people of all religious faiths to reflect on the spirit of giving and the need for organ and tissue donors. This national celebration of the Gift of Life is observed the second weekend in the month of November.

Spiritual leaders are called upon to reach out to their communities to help raise awareness and share the truth about individual denominations' beliefs and traditions related to organ and tissue donation. LifeBanc is available to help you plan a Donor Sabbath event by providing a free educational program or informational materials. The programs typically feature the personal story of a recipient or donor family plus a question and answer session.

LifeBanc can make planning a Donor Sabbath Ceremony easy for your congregation. Download the clergy packet and review ideas for bulletin text about Organ and Tissue Donation, sermon ideas based on scripture, a candle lighting ceremony and many more suggestions.

To request a speaker, click on publiced@lifebanc.org. Please include your name, organization and your contact information. If you have a date and time in mind for a program, please leave that information as well. If you would like a supply of donation inserts for your church bulletin, just tell us a quantity and where to send them. A member of the LifeBanc Public Education Department will contact you.
